Anyone out there own/owned one of these care to provide feedback?

A family friend had one of these, and every problem has been transmission related. Beware.

My mom had one of these when I was in high school. It was not a bad car at all. Not terribly fast, but definitely enough power to get sideways and have some fun.
Not sure what these are going for, but I would think there are better cars out there for the money

It's basically an S-type with a Modular engine.

This, nice cars, but the trannys aren't the best and the throttle bodies go bad and you end up with crawl home mode. Over all though, still a good buy.

I think it's actually a Jaguar engine, because the smallest Mod V8 was a 4.6, while this has a 4.0

Jag engine made in Lima, OH at 3.9 L.

I love how these things look. I especially like them in black with dark wheels.

Is it just me or does that look a lot like an E46?

Oh Lincoln. This was at least a step in the right direction. Why oh why did you have to pull back...

So it's an AJ. That means it's basically a badge engineered S-type. Now why did I think it was a 4.6?

Don't buy unless is almost free. When they first came out, Lincoln was trying to attract BMW drivers. They offered a free weekend with the new LS to anyone who wanted one. At the time I only had a 1995 325iC. But I tried it out. I returned the car on Saturday. It had a very weak chassis, more flex than my BMW convertible. The car wasn't very fast, BMW was faster. Plus it felt very unstable at high speed, something the BMW never has an issue with.

Look for a manual V6, the V8s were auto only. It had less power but better weight distribution. They're rare, but you might be able to find one.

They're cheap, from what I've seen, but tend to carry that "poor-mans luxury car" stigmata. Rode hard, and put away wet when the repairs become expensive.
Then they sell cheap and are ridden hard some more. Then they get put up on Craigslist with things like "needs hydraulic cooling fan pump" or "hydraulic cooling fan pump replaced with electric out of 04 Lincoln LS".
That kind of stuff scares me in a ~$4000 car.
